Well,,, I cannot think any topic to blog, so I will show you what I learnt in Area studies class.

Today, 99% of babies are welcome to born. There is difference between abortion and miscarriage. The former means that mom or dad decide whether she will give birth to babies or not. The latter word means that it is accidental that mom cannot have babies, maybe something goes wrong. In Britain, having an abortion is fairly easy , on the other hand, in France it has got easier than it used to be , but it is more difficult than England because Catholic does not allow to have an abortion and considers it to be a murder. Here is an example of Catholic country, Ireland, It is still illegal to have an abortion, if they do, they lose license and force them to go to priso; however, there is an exception. It will be allowed if babies have serious problem. Mothers are supposed to be in a hospital for 5 days after giving a birth. Speaking of mothers, Britain has second largest number of single mothers following by the USA.
I was quite happy to hear that 99% of babies are welcome to born. However; what about 1% of children? I often hear that having an abortion is getting common. Sad to say one of my friends had an abortion as she had an unwanted and unexpected baby in her belly. I just want to say that do not take having an abortion for granted and should realize the importance of lives. It is dofficult to say that we should make an abortion illegal, but we really should not take having an abortion for granted.

The other day when I wached the news, I could find something to blog. It was about monkeies in mountain area. People who live in mountain area have been suffering from naughty monkeies. When I watched the news, I thought why are they suffering from them?? They are so cute:-)!!! The problem was that the monkeies come down from the mountains and eat vegetables in fields. When they cannt find anything to eat, they finally get into the houses and steel the food.It happened many times that monkies attacked elderly people. Now, it makes sence why they arer suffering from them. I cannot remenber where the place was exactly. Anyway, the leader of the village decided to catch them and kill them. One woman said that it could not be helped and we should keep the distance between humanbeing and wild animals. Then I thought it is true but is there different way of treating them??I came up with the one idea. How about catching them and sending them to zoos or somewhere like this?? I know thisb problem is not so easy one, but I wish the day will come when people and wild animals live happily.

Today, wree studied about Growth. It was quite interesting to learn. As we have been studying about social issues which are dipressing ones. Today's topic cheered us up,didnt it?! Anyway, I came to think about social issues deeply because of natural disasteres all over the world. Recently, we watch the news which is related to natural disasters every single day. ... By the way, tunami was terrible one ,wasnt it?! I just could not believe the screen on TV. At the same time, I did not want to believe it. I really feel sorry for them.
Speaking of earthquake in Kobe,10 years have passed since the earthquake. I still remember Kobe suffered a disastrous earthquake at 5:46am on 17 January in1995. The earthquake killed over 6000people and destroyed about 100.000 houses, leaving 300000 residents homeless. How terrible it was... Even though th city is nearly completely rebuilt and the thhoiusands of collasped houses have been replaced, we must not forget about the mightiness of nature and the weakness of humans.

Hope everyone is having a good holiday. What have you guys been up to? I always have a part time job at IZUMIYA in Hirakata, so I spent Christma and New years day at home alone. How poor I am... However, I spent goot time in Hokkaido. I went there with my bf from 26th to 28th of December. As I had never gotten on a domestic aeroplane, I was soooo excited!! It took about an hour and half to get to Hakodate, Hokkaido. First we went a trip to Hakodate, After having a supper, we went up to Hakodate mountain and saw view of Hakodatecity. It was so beautiful. I could not believe my eyes!! It is said that the view of Hakodate city is one of the most beautiful view in the world.
Next day, we went to Otaru and Sapporo. Everything I ate in Hokkaido was delicious!! One thing I realised there was that Hokkaido was so much nature, and hte air is clean:)!!!!Very nice!

The other day when I was watching TV, I found a piece of intersting news.Britsh man called Lloyd Scott who is 43 years old finished acrossing Australia from Perth to Sydney. He left Perth on October 13th. He kept acrossing Australia for51 days by riding the outdated bicycle in the 19th century which is called PENIFAJINGU og a big front wheel and smaller rear wheel. I foun d it to be very intersting as he rode on such a old bicycle which loks sooooo cool!!!!!! What I want to tell you guys is that Mr. Scott is a British former football player and it is the purpose that he was diagnosed as marrow nature leukemia in 1987, have recieved a bone marrow tranplantation in1989 and the trip of a bicycle collects contribution (for the child of leukemia) charities. This news remainded me of Terry Fox. I strongly believe that Mr.Scott must have encouraged people around the world as Terry Fox did. so I was quite happy to hear that.

Last weekend, Haruna, our other friends and I went to Expo Land. The day before that day, the weather forcast told us that it would be rainy day. We were shocked by it as we had been looking forward to going there so much. I made TERUTERUBOUZU to hope to be sunny day.... The day before that day, Haruna put up at my house. We could not sleep as we were too excited. At 5.00 a.m., I looked out of the window ,luckily, we were able to see some stars up in the sky. Then we were reliefed , and went to sleep. That day, we got up at 8.00 a.m. and left my house to Expo Land. Though the weather forcast was for rain, we had a lovely day. It was not cold at all. In Tokyo, the thermometer read 25 degrees. I could not believe my eyes!!! I t is already December!! We are supposed to wear coat , scarf and gloves, arent we?! As soonas I heard the news, I thought of global warming. Scotts class actually made me to think about it; However, again I thought that we were in danger. It is now time for every single person to consider it more seriously. On that day,as well as we enjoyed spending time in Expo Land, we thought about global warming more seriously.

Hi everybody.

Today, we did our poster presentation.Yeah:)!!!! I really enjoyed listening and asking questions at each poster. I thought it was easier to unferstand than studying them though the books. At the same time, I could feel how time fly it was. I learnt many things today, and how precious energy is. We must save it!!! It is now time to take an action. I actually took energy for granted, and would not willing to save energy before this class. However; this topic made me to think more seriously, which is really nice!! I am trying to save energy from my dairly life. I often left light bright, and left TV on when I was in bed, which I think it is waste of energy.
I hope that what we learnt in our class encouraged you guys to save energy.
